Estimating is a new subject to me. It compromises of 14 topics which consists of 2 parts, theory and calculation. There is one major assignment for this subject. We were given a tender invitation and we were required to complete and submit the tender document within a month time. We are then to attend an evaluation session with the client if our tender were shortlisted while an evaluation session with the director if our group fails to be shortlisted.
Our group has ran into several problem when doing this assignment. It is because some parts of the criteria has not been taught by our lecturer. Hence we were lack on information, we tried to do some parts by ourselves. By the way, we seek help from our seniors and their were once in our shoes. Teamwork was learn as we had to depend upon one another as we understood the responsibility of all the team member. There is a saying, "all for one and one for all". What is most important the time management skills. Since we ran into alot of problems, we had a lot of sleepless nights. If only if we had plan our time management skills properly, everything would have been better. Luckily work was finish open the time frame.
