FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT | QSB 3414
Financial management was led by Mr. Lai. This subject covers both financial and organizational aspects in relation to construction project. The purpose of this subject is to enable us to understand the background, principles and practices and information systems of financial management. We were taught how to appraise capital investment proposals as well as the management of construction organization.
The coursework consists of mid term test, group assignment and group presentation. For the mid term test, we were tested on the theory of "Time Value for Money", preparation of income statements and balance sheet as well as the calculation for Net Present Values. As for the assignment, our group has chosen Nestle to analyze and evaluate their performance based on their annual report for the financial year 2012 and 2013. We were also required to forecast their growth for the next 3 years. Subsequently, we did a group presentation on our findings from our group assignment.
This subject has helped us to build a strong foundation in the basics of business where we can now apply accounting and financial principles to evaluate investments.
