MEASUREMENT 5 | QSB 3115
Measurement 5 is a prerequisite of measurement 4. There are two lecturer for this module which are Mr. Simon Chee Wai Meng & Mr. Ramar Subramaniam. Mr Simon Chee had taught us during Semester 2 which is not new to us. However Mr.Ramar is a new lecturer for us throughout this module. The topics that Mr. Simon has covered with us are civil engineering work which are measurement of site investigating, retaining wall, earthwork, railway track, environmental protection and prestressed beam. On the other hand, Mr Ramar taught us M&E work which are measurement or electrical installation, cold water installation, fire protection, sanitary installation and air-conditioning. For mid term test, we had asked to measure electrical installation including BQ and assumption list. However for group assignment, we need to form a group of five. We were required to do earthwork measurement. Works have already distributed by lecturer and group members are responsible to the work they have chosen.
Reflection
Throughout this Measurement 5, I had learnt to recognize the items measurable for all the civil engineering and M&E work and also distinguish the clauses on Mycesm. For the group project, we have to apply this semester knowledge to complete the assignment. So that, i can understand and ability to do measurement of earthwork. It is helping us in future as we understand what the scope of civil engineering.
