Professional practice was taught by the same lecturer whom teaches measurement 4, Sr. Chang. It was a 5 credit hour module which consist of a lecture and a tutorial every week. It compromises of an individual assignment, a midterm and a final examination.
The topics covered were procurement, contract arrangement, tendering methods, variation orders, prime cost sum, provisional sum, delays and extension of time and damages.
For the assignment, were we instructed to write a three(3) thousand words report. It was a proposal report on the best procurement method to choose from, tendering method and contract arrangement. This assignment was not as difficult as taught as it was quite straight forward. With the understanding I got from this lectures and tutorials, I basically got the keys ideas of the assignments. All that is left was to fill in the blanks. However being who I am and slacking here and there, especially when most of the subjects' submission date so close to one another and even one on the same day, there was a lot of sleepless nights. However, i am happy to say, everything was completed. I have to manage my time much better in future.
